The All-New 2014 BMW i3 Nominated for two 2014 World Car Awards

Many drivers want to switch over to electric cars, but they do not want to lose out on performance, versatility and comfort. Now there is an exciting option. The makers of the Ultimate Driving Machine, BMW, are launching the first mass produced BMW electric car. The 2014 BMW i3 is scheduled to arrive at BMW dealerships across the United States in May 2014. At this point, it is collecting accolades from around the world.  The new 2014 BMW i3 is one of the finalists for both Design of the Year and World Green Car at the 2014 World Car Awards. 

The tenth annual World Car Awards will be held this year during the 2014 New York International Auto Show on April 17. This prestigious award was established to recognize the global car economy as well as automotive excellence everywhere in the globe. It is huge honor for the new 2014 BMW i3 to be named among the finalists in its first year.
 
The 2014 BMW i3 is the next generation of electric cars. It can go between 80 to 100 miles on a single charge, though there is an optional range extender if you want to take the vehicle for longer trips. It is compact, light, and pretty fast with an electric motor producing 170 horsepower and 184 pound per foot of torque. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under eight seconds.  Those are impressive numbers for the segment.
