2013 BMW X3 named Top Safety Pick

The 2013 BMW X3 is a performance geared SUV with all the fancy gadgets and trinkets you can imagine. It is agile and engaging-an absolute pleasure to drive. The 2013 BMW X3 is an automotive powerhouse, plus it is one of the safest cars on the road. The prestigious and renowned Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the 2013 BMW X3 a Top Safety Pick. It is a huge honor. It is another example of how BMW engineers vehicles worthy of the Ultimate Driving Machine title. The 2013 BMW X3 seamlessly combines excitement, power, and security.

In order to be considered a Top Safety Pick a vehicle must receive a rating of "Good", the Institute's highest rating in all tests including frontal off-set crash, side impact, rear impact and roof crush. It also must have electronic stability control as standard equipment. Safety has always been a top priority at BMW.  Not only was the 2013 BMW X3 engineered to protect its driver and passengers in a crash, it was engineered to help the driver avoid the crash in the first place. Every 2013 BMW X3 comes standard with antilock disc brakes, automatic brake drying (useful in rainy weather), front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, active front-seat head restraints, stability control and hill descent control.

The IIHS testers were very impressed by the 2013 BMW X3. After the side impact test IIHS noted that for both the driver and rear seat passenger, "Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity." For head protection for both the driver and rear passenger they noted, "The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures." Our BMW dealer has the 2013 BMW X3.
